You Found Me

125 degrees, I saw the temperature on my phone, I was sweating my ass off. Not being dramatic for poetry sake - it was that hot out and my key fob melted in my hand. But man oh man, I love nothing more than walking around in a ghost town in the desert.
Don’t wanna pack
But I know I gotta go.
Forgive me this morning
Everything's moving slow.
125 degrees
Needles, Arizona.
Stuck to the passenger seat
Melted straight into the keys.
Wake me up
When I can stare back at the Milky Way
Clear as can be.
I lost myself in you
But I am finding my way back.
With every constellation
I trace with my finger in the sky.
Snuggled in the in between
Of the window and my seat.
Singing to our favorite songs
Lost in back roads
To celebratory goblets of wine
To nights where the silence hits
To the morning tea helping me breathe
Everything is intertwined.
