This was a special moment I captured in the Painted Desert between the sun and the storms on the horizon. The poem below inspired by the beautiful search of home I felt while traveling only to realize coming home meant the journey back to myself.
Don’t worry if your heart gets heavy
Just like the moon we all have phases.
And if you need to rest, please don’t hurry.
Move like The Hermit.
You light the first few steps
You need to see.
Try to not let the how or why
Weigh on you.
You don’t need to have it all
Figured out.
Let the questions fuel you
Along your path to the unknown.
The more you try to understand
The less you’ll feel at home
And the more that feels like peace.
To be able to question everything.
No more desire to be correct.
But to keep searching
To listen to what feels right
To hear your voice in the dead of the night
Calling you back home
Calling you back
Calling you home
Calling you
Calling...
